Geography
The San Gabriel Valley is a region within Los Angeles County east of Los Angeles city and downtown. The 10 freeway is the major interstate that cuts across the San Gabriel Valley. The other “valley” known in L.A. county is the San Fernando valley which is to the northwest.
The approximate map area of San Gabriel Valley is shown below. Northern cities include Altadena, Sierra Madre, Pasadena. Western cities include West Covina and San Dimas. Southern cities include Diamond Bar, City of Industry, La Puente, Montebello, and Whittier. Eastern cities include South Pasadena and Monterey Park.
