Major streets

The three most well known surface streets in the San Gabriel are Valley Blvd., Colorado Blvd., and Rosemead Blvd. Both Valley and Colorado run east/west while Rosemead Blvd runs north/south.

Valley Blvd. stretches from East Los Angeles, going through Monterey Park, Alhambra, San Gabriel, Rosemead, El Monte, and all the way into La Puente. Valley Blvd. is at approximately 28 miles long and running parallel to the 10 freeway until reaching the 605.

Colorado Blvd. stretches from the west end of Pasadena to east end of Pasadena for approximately 6 miles. It roughly parallels the 210 freeway. This is the street that the famous Tournament of Roses parade runs along.

Rosemead Blvd. begins as Lakewood Blvd. to the south in Long Beach and is also known as State Route (SR) 19. It cuts through major freeways such as the 405, 5, 60, and 10 freeways. In Pico Rivera, it becomes Rosemead Blvd. The approximate total length of SR19 is about 30 miles. Rosmead Blvd. closely parallels the 605 freeway for a majority of the way.
